PHILOSOPHY
The faculty believes that bachelor in nursing program
is a formal education is consistent with the philosophy of general education
which is at per with other degree programmes in the community. Undergraduate
nursing program is broad based education with an academic frame work specifically
directed to the development of critical thinking skills, competencies and
standards required for practice of professional nursing as envisaged in
National Health Policy 2002. Practice of nursing is based upon application of
basic concepts and principles derived from the physical, biological and
behavioral sciences, medicine and nursing. Scope of nursing practice encompases
provision of promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative aspects of care
to people across their life span in wide variety of health care settings.
Nursing is based on values of caring, and aims to help individuals to attain
independence in self-care.
Undergraduate
nursing educational programme prepares its graduates to become exemplary
Citizen by adhering to code of ethics and professional conduct at all times in
fulfilling personal, social and professional obligations so as to respond to
national aspirations.
