Topic: Field Visit to Water Treatment and Sewage Treatment Plant 2026

On 6th April 2026, a field visit to the Water Treatment Plant, Chandigarh-39, and Sewage Treatment Plant was organized for the B.Sc. Nursing 5th Semester students by the Community Health Nursing Department under the guidance of Dr. Swapna Melchisedec (Principal of Mohandai Oswal College of Nursing). The visit was arranged with the objective of enhancing the students’ practical understanding of water purification and sewage treatment processes.

During the visit, the students observed and learned about the different stages involved in the treatment of drinking water, such as sedimentation, filtration, and chlorination. They were also made aware of the procedures involved in wastewater treatment, sewage management, and safe disposal, which are vital components of environmental sanitation and disease prevention.

The visit was highly informative and beneficial, helping the students bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application.
