The Department of Community Health Nursing, Mohandai Oswal College of Nursing, Ludhiana, organized an Awareness Programme on World No Tobacco Day 2026 at Civil Hospital, Ludhiana. The programme was conducted in accordance with the World Health Organization (WHO) theme, “Unmasking the Appeal – Countering Nicotine and Tobacco Addiction,” with the objective of educating the public about the harmful effects of tobacco use and encouraging a tobacco-free lifestyle.
The awareness programme was conducted by the students of G.N.M. 3rd Year, who actively participated in a role play highlighting the adverse health, social, and economic consequences of tobacco consumption. The students also prepared and displayed informative posters carrying impactful messages on tobacco control, healthy living, and the benefits of quitting tobacco.
The programme received active participation and appreciation from the audience. Through creative presentations and educational activities, the students successfully conveyed the importance of preventing tobacco use and adopting healthier lifestyle choices.
The programme concluded successfully with a strong appeal to the public to stay away from tobacco products and contribute towards building a healthier and tobacco-free society. Special thanks were extended to Shri Jawahar Lal Oswal for his constant support, encouragement, and guidance in making the event a grand success.
